I noticed on my 77 that the Gas cap bezel in not shutting properly.  It does not come down all the way and is not flush.  Is there a spring that allows it to stay down?  Thank you for all of your help and input!Tongue fowler122007-02-23 09:49:49

There is indeed a spring in there. It is a spring steel, curved item. It should hold the lid open, and snug it down when closed. If the lid is "floppy", and has no tension on it, the spring can be replaced.

Thank you very much....I will definately need to get a new spring. I looked at it a little closer and it appears that there is not one on it.  Where would you recommend getting one?

Just about any of the Vette suppliers should have it, Check with Bair's, Mid Am, or Paragon.
