I bought a new strainer for inside the gas tank, while looking in there I also noticed a lot of rust on the sides of the tank. Has anyone changed the strainer before? I could use some advise, also what is the best way to clean the tank, do I need to remove it?

you can change the strainer by just removing the pickup from the bottom of the tank. yes you will need to remove the tank to clean it properly. POR-15 makes a cleaner (thats what I used) but i'm sure there are others.i bought a new strainer but mine was in great shape so i left the orgional on.
