I have a 69 L46 without air conditioning. Can someone tell me what the correct mounting location for the canister fuel filter is???
I have looked for a picture of the external fuel filter, but , can't find on that shows any detail |headscratch|

Doesn't your car have a Quadrajet carburetor? The fuel filter should be in the carb where the fuel line feeds in...either a sintered bronze filter or a barrel shaped paper filter.

If your original carb has been replaced by a Holley or another make, then an in-line filter could be installed most anywhere ahead of the carb inlet, though supposedly before the fuel pump is best.

Dean, the fuel filter for your 69 mounts off the AIR pump. I removed my pump and needed to fabricate a small bracket that holds two lines securely to the closest head bolt hole. I hope this link to Zip works, it will show an illustration of the routing.

If you eliminated your AIR you will not need the filter mounting clamp as there isn't anything to mount it to. Instead, I made a clamp that holds the two lines together near the head and mounted it to the unused acessory mounting hole.

Thanks Red. The link you sent is exactly what I was looking for. The filter in the car right now is mounted to the bracket that used to hold the AIR.
