Has anyone heard of this product as a substitute for R12? A local mechanic is recommending to charge a can or so into my system of R12 on my vette. |headscratch|

Thanks Gary, great link and article. The AC guy was going to add a can of this to my R12, looks like that is the wrong answer. I have since found someone locally with $$$ R12 $$$. Hopefully I won't need too much. |thumb|

Vette(s): 1982 Collector Edition Almost all original Borla's and hollow cat.
Do not add Freeze 12 to your system. And do not convert to Freeze 12. It is crap.

Go to R143A if you need to change.

Vette(s): 3.) 1970 Corvette LS-5 convertible, current 2.) 1970 Corvette convertible, burned. 1.) 1978 Corvette Silver, sold.
Yes. It is a substitute for the original R-12. You don't have to retrofit anything. I had it put in my '66 Impala after buying six cans of R-12 (still have them) and a 134 kit (still unused).

I use the freeze 12 in my car, it works well to top of the system, I have had no problems. You can still get r12 if the service place has a license to use it.You will pay alot for it but it is out there. If you change to 134 you will not be happy unless you change your condensor & dryer.
