Does anyone know how to glue a fan shroud?

Was working on my '82 radiator frame and fan shroud broke lose at the bottom connections . It took some parts of plastic off that stayed in the frame. Are clean breaks so I think I have a good try to glue it together. Is it ABS?

Thanks,

Sure will try everything to get it in to shape. Have to figure out where to get the stuff because here in Europe (the Netherlands) we can't get everything. Maybe I can find a european substitute.

You can use fiberglass resin.  A few strand of glass for reinforcement won't hurt.

I did'nt know where you were, nothing in your profile to tell us where you live,I used to be called a little Dutch Boy when I was a toddler, but my relatives left Holland in 1660,so I do'nt know much about, the Old Country, there should be an auto place or hardware store around you somewhere, that handles J.B.Weld or its equivilent . good luck with the repair, let us know how it turns out

JB Weld is a two part epoxy similar to the bonding material used to attach the panels on our plastic marvels.

Hope that helps.

It's great for when you need a golf ball glued to a coke bottle.

Have you ever gone into the old hardware stores, and seen the display for epoxy adhesives? I believe it's either JB Weld, or PC-7 that has this display.

It's a coke bottle with a golf ball, wood, metal pieces, and all that junk bonded onto it.

It was a long running joke in the shop I used to work in.

Alan
