I have to replace the left side exhaust manifold on my 76 L48 as it is cracked and leaking. I have seen some manifolds for sale for other year cars and my question is are the 76 manifolds unique in anyway or will a 75 through 80 exhaust manifold be an exact replacement? also is there any differance between a left and right side manifold or will either one fit on the left side (drivers)

The correct manifold for your '76 bears GM casting number 3989036 - 350/180 (L-48) or 350/210 w/o A.I.R. All '76-'79's w/o A.I.R. used this manifold on the RH and LH sides.
There is another manifold for some of the '69-'80 350's WITH A.I.R. This would be GM casting #3932461 - RH only on '69-'71; paired on '74 and '77-'80. (Not used on '75 or '76.)
Both are straight outlet, long stud, "Ram's Horn" design. But only the first one is correct for your '76.
Hope this helps.

John,
Thanks for the information, The car is all original so I will see if I can find the manifold with the casting numbers you provided me with. Thanks again
