Emmissions/Inspection in Texas

Recently bought an 81...didn't realize it had no catalytic converter...Has had new dual exhausts, flowmasters...nice sound ...But, to get it inspected, the converter has to be replaced...Go back on with a stock converter or...????

As I understand it...if you go back to the stock converter you have to go back to false dual exhaust. I have true-dual on my 75 that passed MD inspection, I'll check the Cats tonight and see what they say on them =)

You may want to check with Texas just to be sure.....but in GA if the car came with cat(s), you will need one(two) to pass inspection.....but it's not necessary to have a stock type.

Rather than loose the duals, I would have a local muffler shop fit 2 free flowing universal cats in your pipes....then cut a section out and install the cats. That way you can keep your true duals and pass the inspection requirements.
