Electric Water Pump and Fan

Hello,
I am thinking of installing a electric WP & fan. Any suggestions ? My car has the stock radiator with a aluminum WP. It stays around 190 degrees while in traffic. I just want to free up some more ponies (HP). Thanks for the help.

Don't know if this is worth it.
Electric water pumps to get more HP are for racing, but will not produce HP during normal cruising due to that the engine now needs to produce the electricity to drive the pump.
We all know that whenever you convert power, you loose on it.
Also the life span of electric water pumps is limited.
Than again, electric fans make sense, when you switch them with a temp sensor switch.
Whatch out that you don't use more electricity than your alterantor is capable to produce.

YOU COULD ALSO TRY PUTTING IN A COOLER THERMOSTAT. A 160 TO 170 DEGREE THERMOSTAT WILL ALLOW YOU TO RUN MORE TIMING AND HIGHER COMPRESSION WITHOUT FEAR OF DETONATION. COOLER MOTOR = MORE POWER.

Can't offer anything on electric water pumps, other than agree with what Gunther said - converting energy for electricity takes horsepower.

Friends have installed electric fans with good results. If you have a good setup you can probably get rid of the shroud.

But installing a lower temp thermostat isn't going to drop the operating temperature of your engine. All it will do is open the flow sooner. Thermostats control the low end of the temperature range, not the high end of the range. If your engine normally runs at 190 with a 180 thermostat, it will still run at 190 with a 160 thermostat. So if you're running hot there is somethingelse in the system that isn't doing its job (radiator, water pump, hoses) of keeping things cool.
