OK!!!!!!

I am fed up with the fan shroud and lack of any space and near impossible to install... .......

not to mention the factory copper / brass rad got a little banged up while remving the shroud a few months back.

Even though I had the local rad shop check it and they say its fine, i just dont trust it and since its cooling a big block, I just dont want to take a chance being 100 miles away and one of those bent tubes breaks and a overheat happens....

so... I was looking at the dewitts rad / fan combos...

Who has them, what temp change if any was noticed and is it worth the price?

I don't have the electric fans, but I got a replacement radiator from them. It was expensive, but the quailty is second to none. It was also protected very well when shipped. I'd buy another one from them in a heartbeat.

i bought the fans and wound up buying a radiator too. that should be in by the end of the week. they have quick service and are great to deal with. i ordered the fans from mid america and they actually came from dewitts.

I just put in the Dewitts Alum Rad with dual Spal fan set up.  Much easier to get around than before.  Paid about $950.00 for the set up and was fairly easy to install/wire.

Bummed recently while in traffic down here and weather was only 73 degrees with high humidity though, yet mechanical thermostat I installed showed 200 degrees.  I did install a fail safe 195 degree thermostat and programmed the fan settings where Spal said to, so I am not convinced the thermostat is right, but will know more later this summer.

Last weekend, I drained the radiator, added Water Wetter and filled back with plain water and temp dropped about 10 degrees, left about a 10-20% antifreeze mix, so we will see.

However, to answer the other question, Dewitt and Spal are first class folks.  You should be fine in PA though.  LA is hotter than a *&^%%$#@!@~! with the humidity.

I switched to  a Dewitts 2 core aluminum radiator & a flex fan. Never goes above 185 with the air on in 90+ degree temp. I'm running a pretty high HP BB too.

Well, i bit the bullet, I ordered one this morning at 0800, by 0930 I had a shipiing notice from them with a tracking number!!!

So far, great service!

I am hoping with the Stewart Stage 1 Pump, Robertshaw Hi-flo 180 deg t-stat and this rad / fan setup  with a coolant additive.....

I should not have to worry again about overheating!

Great buy!  You should be happy with the setup.  I've been running it for about two years now without any problems.
