OK MY FRIENDS. INSTALLING A NEW HEATER CORE, (YES, I AM LEARNING SOME NEW WORDS!) AFTER I TOOK THE VENT PLENUM OUT FROM BEHIND RADIO, I NOTICED THE DEFROST DUCT NOT CONNECTED TO THE HEATER PLENUM. DOES ANYNONE KNOW IF THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE THE WAY IT IS? THE OPENING ARE THE SAME SIZE, SO ONE DOESNT FIT INTO THE OTHER. IS THERE SUPPOSED TO BE "DUCT TAPE" AROUND IT? IT DOESNT APEAR TO HAVE BEEN MOLESTED BY PREVIOUS OWNER AND I HAVE BEEN THE FIRST THIS FAR INTO IT

I COULDNT GET THE PICTURE RIGHT SIDE UP, SO TILT YOUR HEAD TO THE LEFT TO SEE.

The fit on the ducts on these cars was horrible from the factory....it just had to be close. Best to just go ahead and either find some flexible hose you can adapt for it, or tape....either will work.

Vette(s): 1973 Orange Metallic Coupe (orig owner), L82, 4 spd (WR), PS, (A/C & PW (I installed from wrecked 73)), leather, AM/FM Stereo, ran with '65 FI unit earlier & will again some day. 2023 Accelerate Yellow HTC Stingray

Get the Gorilla black duct tape.  It'll stick forever and will kind of look factory.
