When I am idleing at a light after running,I get a vibration from the AC system (I think compressor). When the RPM is over 2K it seems to smooth out. Sometimes at idle it is so bad I switch the AC off until I get going again. Ideas?

I just put the A/C back on this car and I had a vibration at idle, that cleared up around 800 rpm. It turned out to be one of the bracket bolts missing. It was the main bracket where the front most exhaust bolt/stud is. Once I tightened this up the vibration went away. I have two brackets that combine to support the compressor and two rods, one from the intake manifold, and one on the front lower a/c bracket. I would suspect something is missing. I can post a couple pictures if my description above makes no sense.

I agree, it's got to be that one of the half dozen or more mounting bolts is missing or loose. Joe
