1981:  After engine has been running and warmed up, the “Check Engine Light” comes on when rolling to a stop and stays on while idling at the stop.  As soon as I hit the gas pedal and the car starts accelerating, the light goes off.  This will repeat itself for the duration of the trip.  Any insight would be appreciated.  Thanks.

Most auto parts stores will hook up a scanner for free. You can also short pin A and B together and it will flash a code on the check engine light. Then you have to Google that code to see what it refers to.
