I had the catalytic convertor removed from my baby yesterday, it was like having a tumor removed. I am amazed at the pep she has and the sound ( I have monza performance mufflers) is unbelivable. Actually it will take some getting used to because it is really loud but the sound is great.
One thing that is unfortunate is I have nerve damage in my hands and must rely on other people and it cost more than I expected. My wife is not happy
, oh well, Gene

Congrats, Gene! Even if you did have to pay someone else to do it....it's worth it, sometimes.

Gene...Sorry to hear about your nerve damage. One of my enjoyments is working on the 78 myself, but...... I can't hear to well. I have nerve damage in my ears due to loud noises.
Just alittle food for thought

great improvement. know what you mean about paying other people as i am
the same way. you have to explain to your wife what all the
improvements will do for her and as a last resort offer to let her
drive it once

Hey, been there, done that. All I did was let the wife drive it once. The last car I bought, the wife claimed immediately ( it was Christmas time and that was what she claimed she had asked Santa for. Now she has her own '78 and she doesn't want me to drive it (and I do all her work on it. Brought it to life from a gutted empty shell.) Hard to blame her , Huh .

My car came with the cat in a cardboard box.
Picked it up and thought, man that takes an extra 40 lbs of weight off the car. Also has aftermarket mufflers, don't know what kind but sounds pretty nice to me.

My wife doesn't complain about what I spend. We both realize that 100 yrs. from now nobody will know the difference...
