Carb Heat Dissipater

I recently heard about this 1/4" heat dissipater plate that is designed to keep engine heat away from the carb. 

This plate helps to keep the gas in the carb bowl from boiling away and causing the dreaded "vapor lock" which a lot of Vettes are prone to.

Anyone using one?  &&&&&& Does it work?

I've not used that exact thing but it is supposed to have two benefits...decrease heat transfer from the intake to the carburetor and make for better fuel velocity and distribution as if the carb is on a high-rise intake manifold. How much difference is hard to say. Depending on the engine set-up, the difference may be more theoretical than real, or it may make a noticeable difference. Some years back on a different car, I tried an insulator that was thinner and was supposed to do the same thing...I noticed no difference.

I think vapor lock is more related to the fuel lines than carb bowl boiling, but the effect is similar.

I had problems with fuel boil on a hot day with my holley, when you turned off the engine and started it within lets say 20 minutes it would run rough sometimes cough for a while, I put a fiber 3/8" insulator from holley on and it stopped.
