Vette(s): 1981, Black/Black, Engine bumped to about 400HP.Ext/int mostly stock.

If you have cruise control, you have two cables, and "upper" and "lower".  They must have changed the location of the cruise control transducer half way thru the '77 production year in order for the two lower cables listed to be that different in length.  You need to figure out which of the two cables is bad anyway, before you order one, so I suggest you remove the bottom cable, which is MUCH easier than the upper, then check it to see if one of the plastic ends is mangled/missing, which indicates it is the problem cable, and while you're at it, you can measure the cable.  If you're transducer is mounted where mine is, which is on the driver's side fender under the brake booster wiper fluid tank, it cannot be the 24" cable, as there is no way that would reach from the transmission.
