Hello out there in Corvette land. . .
I would like to know how to access the top of the fuel tank on my 1980 to see if the factory build sheet is still there. My car hasn't seen much wet or humid weather and being stored indoors for 11 years might help the build sheet if it is still there. I am again back working in the oil patch and am keeping up to date from my hotel room 600 miles from home! Thanks for any help.

I found mine on the top Front side of the tank. Was able to retreive it just behind the rear spring and above the spare tire carrier. Good luck..

What if you remove the rubber around the top of the gas tank tube thingy and shined a flashlight in there. Do you think he'd be able to see if its even there or worth dropping the tank for

After droping my tank, I was able to clean my build sheet with a paint brush and some patience. I photographed it, & then I placed a sheet of laminate paper over the build sheet.
After repeated rubbing, I was able to lift the build sheet off nearly perfectly, and I laminated another sheet on the back.
I also scanned it & made a copy (laminated) which I placed on my new tank before I installed it.
