Ran good yesterday.Today rich real bad.I've got gas puddling on top of where the acc pump rod goes.I put a new fuel filter on between the fuel pump and the carb.I can run the idle mixture screws both ways with no difference in idle.This is on a 71Z/28 auto.

Either send Edelbrock tech support an e-mail or call them tomorrow. They're good people and should have the right answers for you.

Sounds like a float sticking.  Perhaps some crud in the needle and seat.

I took the Carb back to Auto Zone and they gave me another one.I do have another ?do I need a return line?I don't see where one would go.

If this is an '82, it should definitely have a return line. The '82s were injected(sorta!), and required a return line. Chances are, it is at the rear of the engine, where the fuel line comes over the top of the bellhousing.
Also, if you are using a regular carb on a fuel injected set-up, your electric fuel pump may well be putting out too much pressure for a carbs needle & seat.


Oh !!...I just saw the part at the bottom of the post about this being Mama's Z28...never mind...

I'm just as bad Joel.i've got it running but it darn sure sure won't idle below 2000.I'm taking it up to the shop for fine tuning.
