Boiling HOT!

im running 6.25 lbs

Im using a holley blue (max 14 psi) electric fuel pump, a great deal since it comes with a regulator

and i have the regulator tuned to 6.25 lbs which I am measuring with a Holley inline fuel pressure gauge.
the whole setup.. i.e. pump & regulator, swivel adapter, and gauge cost about 140$..

I have always liked holley electric pumps.. (the polished aluminum looks good too)

Ive consistently had BAD luck with mechanical fuel pumps on performance engines here in arkansas. too much heat.. in fact Ive had the fuel so hot with a mech pump it boiled out of the vent tubes on the carb.

i like it since you can wire it in with your starter kill as extra theft protection.

also an oil pressure electric fuel pump kill is a great engine protector

as for this.. the best bet is to run a pump with a greater than required capacity and regulate it down.

as with all things preformance.. dont go overboard..

a holley red is too small for perfomance in my opinion it maxes out at 7 psi... a blue maxes out at 14 and is best regulated between 4 and 9 psi the black and volumax pumps are too big for street use.

this will give you a very even and steady fuel pressure.

mine doesnt fluctuate at all (although i am using an oil filled gauge which reduces needle bounce)

Hey Bossman, what about current requirement. Did you go to a higher output alternator?

max current is 4A...

my inductive ammeter reads 2.3A draw

i use a 30A relay to run all of my aftermarket accessories.. it runs my msd ignition, elctric choke and fuel pump without a problem.

I ran the relay to the pink "ignition on" wire on the drivers side near the firewall.

Ill make sure to get some pics of this too
