Does anyone have a suggestion for buying a Q Jet. I found Guaranteed Carbs on the internet, but has anyone had any experience with it?
Thanks,
Rick

I use Rick at American Carburetor in Oklahoma City, OK @ 405-670-4995. Did a great job on one that The Carburetor Shop screwed up!
Rick is a small shop but does excellent work and is used by all the vette guys who want to maintain their original numbers and original parts.
He doesn't have an -800 number that I am aware of. He is usually able to turn the same day or same week. He has a huge stock of Q-jets and parts to build up.
Ya might give him a call!

Rick,
I know that Corvette Central sells rebuilt Q-Jets, & I've heard good things about the Quad Shop. http://www.thequadshop.net/
Avoid Cicago Corvette, I've heard mostly bad things about them.
Good luck,
Anthony

Or you can also give SMI Induction (Sean Murphy Induction) a shout. He set up a Q-jet for my vette. I'm very satified with it.
Be prepared to answer some specific questions. i.e., curb weight, tire diameter, rear end ratio, transmission type, engine size, camshaft specs.
He custom tailors the carb to the car and engine specs. The cost for me was $359+$35 Shipping ($394) to New York.
I have a Stage 2 750 cfm Rochester Quadrajet w/ #74 pimary jets, #42K metering rods, "AU" secondary metering rods.
I did have to upgrade to "DA" Secondary rods since I upgraded my GMPP 350 HO 330HP Crate engine with a LT4 Hot Cam. The rods cost me $30 shipped. I thought that was a little much for a couple little pieces of metal. But over all I'm very happy with the carb.
