I know Madvet has dual exhuast kits for my '79,but they have to be modified for my Dynomax Ceramacoat headers,& I think Dynomax sells dual exhaust for my vette,but only with mufflers-I already have their Super Turbos.Just trying to save a little money-I got too many projects going! HELP! |biggrin|

Assuming the mufflers you have are made to fit your car, all you need are the pipes that run from the muffler to just forward of the crossmember. Corvette Central and others sell the pipes. You will have to get pipes made at a muffler shop to connect the headers to the new pipes. You can make something from flex pipe to get to the muffler shop or you can drive there with open headers if you can get away with it.

I had dual 2 1/2" mandrel bent exhaust put on my Corvette for $280 at a local muffler shop. One thing to watch for is that they don't weld your exhaust to the header collector. Make them put a flange on it.

Thanks,I'll try C.C..No,I dont have the headers on yet.Come to think of it the mufflers I have are left over from a '77 Camaro I'm no longer working on,so maybe they wont fit,& I need them after all.

If you can't find a kit to go with your headers, find a good muffler shop that has a pipe bender. I've had custom exhausts made several times for different cars over the years and had no problems doing that. The shop local to me does excellent work, uses aluminized pipes and puts whatever mufflers I want on (like Flowmasters).

Stay away from flex pipe if you can. It has its place, but you're better off with solid pipe bent to fit.

Looks like,on the site,uless I missed it,that he doesnt cover much for the '79's except complete systems.Although he might,after a phone call. Thanks.. 1st I think I better call around locally to see what kind of prices I can get from a local installer,like many people have suggested |idea|
