Anyone ever use the r12 direct replacement like Freeze 12 or something of the like??? As I was always under the impression that 134a tends to leak out of "older" systems because of the hoses... that 134 needs teflon lined hoses...?? Fact or fiction??

I would stay away from Freeze12. It is very volatile and could cause
big problems in a front end collision. I tested it in a few fleet cars
and it worked okay but those cars are now long gone. As far as
134a leaking out moer than r12, I personally believe that is a myth. I
converted my F150 and Vette to 134a and have had no problems at all. I
needed to change the high pressure hose anyway so I didn't have an old
hose concern. But the rest of the system is original and as previously
stated...no problems.
