Here is a little information I have on what I did to upgrade my AC system to a more efficient type built for R134.
I learned quite a bit along the way and if I had to do it over again I know it would be a lot easier.
Thanks to my7t1 (Terry) for help with questions I had as I was doing this. Sometimes I think I know more then I do so it is good to have a real expert when I need one.

The kit from Nostalgic Air Parts cost me about $500.

It included the compressor and brackets, the condencer, a receiver drier (that you do not use), and the hose kit. The hose kit includs a bag full of fittings and the two sizes of hose needed. I then ordered the "special fittings" to match the evaporator/accumulator fittings from them. The fittings are about $8 each.
The new evaporator was $300 and the accumulator was $150. The switch came with the VIR eliminator kit that I bought when I used the 73 evaporator but sell for about $15.
