AC needs work

Vette(s): 1982CE,32,000 and counting. (fast!!) 1981 Vette, black on black. ZZ4 (quick!!)
I need to change my evaporator and filter dryer.This sounds like something best lest to a pro.how difficult is this?

does the evap. leak,plugged, if not can it be flushed, and a new dryer, if you got the simple hand tools a GM serv. manual, and patience it not bad, most of the stuff comes out the engine side, Rt. lower dash panel has to come off to remove some bolts, you have to have pressure bled before starting, but if the heater core has to be changed then its more work and you need a lot of patience, center cluster, AC-heater ducting has to be removed on top of the AC stuff.

The only reason I would change the evaporator is if it's leaking. If you don't have a vac pump ...Get someone to test your system for leaks. The  evaporator is the hardest to change as it's way down inside. You can do this it just take patience & asking alot of questions. There's a lot of people here that can answer just about averything.
