Very Cool !
Okay it's a bad pun, but still a good thing.

Of course they also said that the reason my headlights and wiper cover now come up when I turn off the motor is because the check valve going to the vacuum canister and dash didn't work.
Not worried about the vacuum right now, but whadda ya'll think about the a/c. I'm gonna need that to work right in June! I know the voices aren't real, but they have some pretty cool ideas...

Many cars did use an idle kicker solenoid. Some did not need them. But the way your idle drops, it would be a good idea, and solve your problem.
It just mounts at the front of the carb, and uses the same power wire that goes to the compressor. When the A/C is on, the idle kicks up. The factory ones kept the idle up the whole time the A/C was on, not just when the compressor kicked in.

Dwain,
I just checked my RPM drop when the A/C compressor kicks on and it only fell 60 rpm. My system is stock with freon. I did notice a connector on the power wires to the compressor clutch which nothing was connected to. Maybe come years used the solenoid like Ken mentioned.
