i hope this is the right place to enter this question, does anyone owning a C3 have trouble with a/c belt chattering? i have shortened the belt but still have some chatter. my mechanic says we might  have to install a new compressor. i had the complete heat and a/c system rebuilt two years ago. gene

I moved your question to the C3 Heating & Cooling forum.  It is the approriate place for it.

I don't have a problem with my belt, so I can't help ya.  Hopefully someone else has an answer for you.

Good luck!

Try a good notched belt & or make sure it's in line with all the other pulleys & the V has to fit deep in the pully. Don't make it to tight or you'll ruin the bearing in the compressor.
