Quick question for forum fluid fanatics (and I mean that in a good way!)...are the 1978 and 1979 gas tanks the same? I know that the '78 isn't interchangeable with earlier sharks. And I think I read that the early '80's were a different shape in turn from the late '70's models. But I need to find out if the last two years of the 1970's are identical to each other, and can be switched.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can shed some light on this issue...just don't light a match though, OK?

They should be the same. The change from pre-'77 fuel tanks was due to the redesign of the rear end for the larger rear glass and the use of a small donut spare tire in place of the full-size spare. That made space available for the larger tank.

I think they are the same, also. The may be some slight differences, but I'm sure they will interchange.

Thanks, Gunslinger and Joel--that's just the confirmation I needed.
