Can someone tell me what size my original radiator is? 3 or 4 core?

Your Radiator could be either one. My after market book calls for a 3 row standard (tank thickness 2 3/4") or heavy duty 4 row (tank thickness 3 1/2") My 71 has a 4 row. Look down filler neck and see how many rows of tubes. Hope this helps. Terry

Mikee, I just had my radiator replaced in my 77 vette last Friday. I bought it from Eckler's. I am pretty sure it is a 3 row. It has a 1-1/2" inlet. The cost was $249.00 w/o taxes. (delco) You can buy more expensives one's but they are pretty much the same. I believe the core in the more expensive (aluminum) radiators is a bit larger. Gene

That's not a bad price for a Delco rad. I sell radiators and I get around $249.00 for aftermarket 3 row. Around $100.00 more for a 4 row.

So, I thought maybe the smaller HP L-48 would have the smaller 3 core.I suppose it's all about how many accesories/auto trans. etc. that determines size. I guess I should get off my fat ars and see what Ecklers cat. says.

I guess I'm not understanding why you can't tell by looking at your radiator. My L48 is a stick & it has a 4 row radiator in it. Personally that's what I would use reguardless of what it came with.

I didn't know if a 4 row fits where there may have been a 3 row.
