Drive it?

Eventually, the dreaded "Check Eng" lite will come on, 'cause the smog pump is not adding any fresh air into the exhaust stream. This will effect the oxygen sensors, and sooner or later the lite will shine brightly!!(unless it's covered with tape, or is unplugged! )

(Ken(kstyer) could give more info on this than I can. )

Vette(s): 1975 C3 Red, T-Tops, Black Interior. All I need is time and money! Getting there!

Actually it won't turn on the check engine light either.  The computer will never know.  The air only goes to the exhaust manifolds when the engine is cold, and the Oxygen sensors are not active.  When the car is warm, the air goes to the cat converter, and that is past the O2 sensors.

This AIR pump is strictly an emission device, and will not affect the way the car runs in any way when remove.  Not even computer cars, until 1996 OBDII systems.

On the "Tail of the Dragon"
(some day, no strike that, October 2008 it turned red, still in progress!)
