Two questions:
1) Is it true that CKY code cars came without Smog equipment?
2) How can I source a proper and correct carb replacement? Obviously, a specific application.
Thanks.

1) According to Corvette Black Book, the CKY was 350ci, 255hp, mt. There is no mention of smog equipment in the book. Did it come with AC?
2) Correct carb for the LT1 is Holley R6239A #3444263

LT-1s of that era, or any corvette for that matter, ONLY had a smog pump if the car was sold in California. Mine is a CA car, so it had a smog pump. It a;so had emission lines running from the gas tank, along the drivers side frame, to a charcoal canister is the left front fender - then a line from the canister to the carb. Thus, instead of the usual Holley R4555 (780 CFM double feed), I needed a Holley R4489 (780 CFM double feed) to get the second carb inlet for the canister line.

I have to disagree.....we have a club member who has an all original '72 LT-1 that was purchased here in Arizona, and it has smog equipment.

Could it have been sold to a dealership and purchased by another dealership to be sold to the public. Frequently dealerships locate vehicles throughout neihboring states in order to provide the customer the vehicle they want?Tuxblacray 2007-11-17 07:27:55
