I keep deluding (sp?) myself with the idea that my wife will let me get a second Corvette someday. Right now, my thought is to get a C6 Convertible when the C7 comes out. I figure the prices for C6's should drop at that time. Even now, I have found a C6 or two like I want for less than what I paid for the truck I'm currently driving. But convincing her that a C6 will be a good daily driver is going to be the hard part.
Don't get me wrong, I would love to have another C3 or even a C1 or 2, but any additional Corvette I get will have to be a daily driver (at least in the foreseeable future - outside of winning the lottery), so I need one with low miles, and preferably, a warrantee.
Marshall you just described a lease vette....
Shucks maybe we can help each other out.... I'll buy you one that you can rent to own.....
Hmmmmn maybe that B/B is still obtainable.
All jokes aside.... have you looked into purchasing a previous leased vette? They would have about 30K on the clock with extended warrenty available.
If you are interested I can hook you up with a local guy who owns Acra Automotive. He sells a boooo-cooo boatload of lease up vehicles (including an occasional vette).

While I just bought a '94 C4, if money were no object, my first choice would be a '57, 4 speed with the dual carb 283...

There is no substitute for low end torque!

I voted for a C2 because I've always loved the convertibles, but in all honesty there isn't a single Corvette that I would turn down if the chance arose. They're ALL awesome!

Well, I had a strict prereq for getting a second vette - I had to buy my wife a bigger house (I get to live in it too, thankfully!) We're in the process of building said house, so soon I'lll have the official OK for the second vette. I may wait a few years so I can save up - really want to get a new one and do the museum delivery...

I find it interesting that no one has chosen #1 (one Vette is enough). I feel the mindset of the group matches mine pretty closley!

Vette(s): Silver 1974 Convertible - L82 4 speed
Low miles (was only 8,900 when I bought it in March 2006) - Now 54K miles. Original owner bought it as an investment for son's college expenses.

Larry, I think that's a great solution. I won't be in the market any time soon (again, my thought is that when the C7 comes out, prices will drop - lease turn in or not - and that also gives me a year or so to put a little cash asisde and do some persuading. If you want to PM me with his info, or maybe we can just talk up in Holland if I don't see you before that.
Great idea though! I love it!! If I did this through a dealer, I would probably be looking at a leased car anyway, and this might save me some markup. Thanks buddy!
I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!

Always looking out fer me buds.... Psssstttt.... I'll talk low sos candy cain't hear me......
Ya don't gotta wait! Price won't be any cheaper next year or this year. They are current model cars wit 30K on them. So the price would be pretty much the same irregarless.
Current market value minus depreciation..... Only thing that might be different would be model year options.
Just for kicks and giggles I'll give em a call this week and send ya some info. Heck I might even see if he has some over the agreement lease vettes that might have slightly more miles at a reduced $$$. I'll e-mail ya what I find out.

K
John (jgoglick),
You hit the nail on the head when you mentioned the prereq from the wife.
Who am I kiddin'? I'll need to have gotten a new house with a bigger garage and, oh yeah, she wants a late 70-s - early 80"s Camaro too before any other Corvettes make into reality for me.
Ah well. Can't hurt to dream a little. My first (current) Corvette is still a dream come true.
Kevin
