Whats it's history??

Hi everyone!
I live down under in Australia and have just restored my '73 and i now wonder what its history is. It's a Californian car and it had a few papers in it when i got it and i know what the original number plate was and i would like to find out who owned it ....
is there anyone who can help?

first thing I would do would be to contact who ever you purchased it from. Get all the information from them you can including who he purchased it from. then contact that person and get the same info from him, continuing until you hit a dead end. go to the state government site of where the prevous titles were from and try to get copies of your previous titles. this info is recorded by the state when ever the car changes owner.

Thanks for the info Gary..yes iv'e hit the brick wall here in Oz and i was hoping that the info may be available from the motor vehicle department in California. I have the original licence plate details. I hope to be able to trace it through this!!(the plate was missing when i got the car but a reciept left in the car for repairs had the plate number on it!
