I was on the road this weekend and saw a 1978 L82 for sale. Its Yellow with Brown interior. The car looks to be in very good condition. The paint looks to have been done recently and looks really good. It has 59k on it. I didn't talk to the owner or get to look under the hood. Its quite a ways from my house. Before I contact the guy what do you think this car might be worth? Thanks for any input, Terry

Terry,
With that low mileage the car would go for somewhere between 15K-20K here in my area. The local credit union would loan 15k on the car for a person with good credit. I would want to know the reputation of the body shop if the car was recently painted. If that paint job were to go south in a few years, that's a major expense as you know. Is it an auto or manual tranny?

Thanks Scott. It is an automatic. There are quite a few questions I have when I call him. Paint, etc. I'd just kinda like to know what its worth before i do. I may want to buy it just for investment.

Terry,
Here's an advance search I did on ebay with 44 1978's that were on ebay recently.

I was thinking more in the 10k to 15k range, depending on the condition.

Like everything else in life. It is worth what someone is willing to pay for it.
