looking at a 68 rally red convertible with new white top. It has a 327 with a 4 speed manual. Also 57,000 miles, air conditioning, good original interior, all matching numbers, great paint, ooo, and gm side pipes, what's she worth??

Hi, I think a car like that, provided the frame isn't all shot should be between 14k-17k, depending on paint, interior, mechanicals, top etc. Please also be advised that a factory side-exhaust was not an option in 1968, it was in '67 and again in 69, but not the real deal on a 68. Good luck- Phil |saluteflag|

i think 4 speed with air in a convertible would be a rare car. i tend to go 18 and maybe more if in good shape . take your time looking at it. has it ever been in an accident?

Nice bumper cars are hard to find. A 4 speed car with air may go for as much as 23k if it is in excellent shape! Especially with that mileage. This price would only be for a car with a ton of originality.

The caveat is that the car is a 1968. This is the first year for the bumber cars. Check the build date. If it has an early build date there tended to be a lot of quality issues. A lot of the problems were worked out on later built cars.

68s tend to go for less than the 69/70 vintage in small block configuration.

If you get the car for anything less than 20k you probably did okay.

Hope this helps.

hello, it is a later 68, so i hope all the problems had been resolved by then, everything seems to be original. But i'm definitely going to look further into it. If anyone else has an opinion feel free to share, thanks a lot.

The May 2004 issue of Corvette Magazine arrived the other day and on pages 80-85 the corvette market report is all about Generation Three, 'Analysis by the want-ad devouring Nick Pon'. Has a breakout by each year and a table of approximate values.

'68 convertibles are listed as:
Crummy - $9,600
Decent - $15,700
Good - $19,900
Fabulous - $27,500
* add $7-18,000 for 427, add 300% for RPO L88

Good general info on all the C3s.
