What Parts Will You Play With This Weekend?

Aaahhhh......'what is Sea Foam' you ask, me darlin'?

It's my latest fave. Works wonders.

With the engine running, pull the far end of a vacuum hose that goes to the intake manifold (like the one that runs from the PCV valve to the manifold, for example). I use the end of the vacuum hose that goes from the power brake booster to the intake manifold. Pour part of a can of this miracle liquid into the open hose. When you're done, replace the hose and immediately turn off the engine; wait five minutes (or 15, which I do); turn the engine back on......rev it a bit, to about 1,500-2,000 RPM....and voila, marvel at the clouds of carbon that are being burned off your top end!

And I do mean clouds. You will smoke the neighborhood. Trust me. But after about five minutes or so, you got no more smoke. But you do got one nicely cleaned up top end.

I have been amazed at how much stuff Sea Foam burns away. And my impression is that the engine idles better, and acceleration/throttle response is improved (I've used it on more than the Vette).

It ain't gonna turn our L48's and L82's into 496/502 beasts--but it's such an easy-and-cheap-maintenance step, that performs just as it promises, that for me anyway it's something I plan on repeating on a regular basis.

You can get it at most auto parts stores for about $7 (they also make an aerosol 'deep creep' penetrating lubricant......oops, sorry; I said this wasn't the X-rated section, didn't I??)

Putting my gauge clusters back together this weekend along with a fishing trip tomorrow for some Atlantic doormats (fluke for those of you living away from the ocean)

Still rear bumper on 75 coming along though. Wash and wax C5 also. Suppose to go to a Classic Car show in Tysons Corner on Sunday. The Washington Post runs a classic article every Friday and whoever the featured during the year will be there. NO Vetts though maybe I can when C3 is painted. Then BBQ on Monday. Thanks

Finished cleaning up the 64 from the 3 days at Carlisle yesterday... and Started getting the C5 ready for the trip up to the Adirondack Vette Fest in NY State next weekend .   

I mean I am not a waxer...but ya gotta do what ya gotta do... 

The 72 is coming out this evening for the local (25 miles away) cruise in ...

Work does NOT start on the cars (serious work) until Turkey Day (Thanksgiving...when I close the garage doors on them until April Fools day of 08... Gota a list a mile and a quarter long of little things between all the cars ... SO UNTIL Turkey Day I intend to drive them as much as I can...Times is getting short.

Every car should use a good carbon cleaner once in a while.   Putting one in the tank every oil change is a good idea.    Through the PCV works well with both carbs and fuel injection, but you can trickle it down the carb when you have one.

I was just going to wash, wax and drive a bit. But, I have some Sea Foam in my garage already. It works great on my snow blower and lawn mower. I'll follow SFVette's instructions and then put it in drive.
