Is there a anyplace I can find out exactly what options my 76 came out of the factory with based upon the VIN? I want to ensure I restore it correctly as I need to find the correct wheels and a few other items.

The VIN won't tell you much except motor options. If it were a Pontiac, you could write to Pontiac Historical Services, they have all the original sales records from Pontiac. I heard a rumor that the same guy is trying to get the same info from Chevy, but that is not going to help you now. If you can find the build sheet (usually glued to the top of the gas tank) it will tell all. Joe
