I thought everyone would find this interesting. This weekend I went

to look at a car for sale for my son, its his first car and like his dad is a car nut. The guy had a 98 camaro for sale and said it was flawless.

He turned out to be a car collector and has 13 corvettes and various other cars, including a ferarri, a prowler, and a mercedes sel sports

car. he used the the camaro for traveling to his house on the jersey

shore, and is selling it to make room in his garage for a new z06,which

he plans on not driving and even leaving the sticker on the window. I

think its great to collect all these cars, but I can't imagine not wanting to drive a new Z06,what fun is that(just looking at it in your garage)

Very interesting! I second your thoughts!! I would be driving that Z06 and enjoying life!!
Good luck to you and your son, Tony in finding the right "first car."

I'd be sellin that friggin Ferrari. But, then again, I wouldn't have one of the turds to begin with!
I've got a few friends around here that also have large 'Vette collections. It just amazes me everytime I get to see them. I'm so jealous!

Personally, I don't think most of us will live long enough to see a substantial return on your investment buying a new Z and parking it.

It reminds me of the Barrett Jackson debauchery, where too many people have too much time and way too much money on thier hands. They make buying a car of that type, be it a muscle, restoration or what ever, way out of the reach of the common man. My friend went there just for ####"s and giggles this year. He has a new Pleasure way van camper, he was parked in amongst a line of Prevost, Newell and other million dollar motorhomes. I watched some of the telecast, to see if he made it on tv, but for the most part, I was appalled at the prices. My .02

I with you guy's, if you can't drive it then what's the point of owning it.

Cars are made to be driven, I agree. But there is no such thing as having too much money. Barrett/Jackson is fun to watch on TV and would be awesome to go to. I laugh when I see a C-3 go for high dollar, it just makes mine and yours worth more. Our cars are unique, fun to drive and a good investment.

Joel, I've seen pics of your basement. I think you have a very large Vette appetite. It would seem to me you have more Vettes than anyone I know. Even if they are on somewhat of a different scale...
