I just read about your T-top case. What do they look like. I am having my 74 painted soon and the factory covers just dont get it. Do you have a phone number or website for MidAmerica?

While on the subject of T-tops... Anyone know where you can get a set of the canvas foldable t-tops for a decent price? I think they'd be pretty nice to have during the spring and summer seasons.

I think I saw them in either Ecklers, Zip or Mia America. I heard that they are nice but held on by velcro and 3M tape. From what I've heard, they want to come off on higher speeds.

Do you mean attached to the car by 3m tape or velcro? I saw some that mounted on with hardware that was similar to that on the hard tops. I wouldn't want 3m or velcro holding my tops on.

I wouldn't either. I can just see it.....on the freeway, off goes the canvas, then up pulls Jonnie Law to give me a ticket for littering! lol Anyhows....I would think that someone would make one to utilize the hardware like the tops so that you're not making many mods to your ride. Just my opinion.

The velcor is held onto the canvas and T-top bar by 3M tape. I heard of the ones you are talking about but haven't seen them around for the 4 years I've owned mine. I've been looking too |cussing|

Hey Scott....

I went to Mid America's website (thanks Debbie AKA Rose). but only saw the soft covers. Is this what you use, or do they have something else?

Yes, it's the soft case I use. I think it works well. Mid America's telephone number is 800-500-8388, and the part number is 606-108, and price is $99.99. Quoting directly from the catalogue.....

"Constructed of a resilient nylon canvas with heavy duty carry straps for maximum durability, our T-Top Storage Case will keep your tops safe and secure while stored. Non-scratch features include a thick foam padded interior, along with an extra large pad to further cushion and separate the tops. Double zipper locks them in tight, yet allows easy access with its three-sided zip design. Conveniently stores behind your 1968-82 seats. Availabale in black only."

Of course, the language is couched in salespitchspeak---but I find that the case works as advertised. I had my doubt about the case's ability to protect my paint until actually used it---but now have complete confidence that my paint won't be scratched. I did have remove other items from the rear compartment, like bicycle pump, cross-lug wrench, etc., so that these items wouldn't jump around and bang against the case. Works great!
