Is it true that power brakes or steering were not offered on 1970 LT1's?

I looked in my copy of The Corvette Black Book and there was a whole bunch of RPOs that were unavailable on the LT-1 in '70. I'll update this later when I have the book in front of me.

***************************

Oops - it was the ZR1 that had the list of RPOs that were not available. Sorry! Nothing in the C.B.B. about exclusions on the LT-1.

The '70 LT-1 was not available with automatic transmission, air conditioning, or power steering. GM's engineers claimed that there was concern that the high revving motor would throw the belts, but these were tough arguments to make since the '70 Z28 Camaro had the same engine and was available with the automatic trans and C3 motors that turned 6500rpm were available with power steering and air. It's more likely that GM refused to dilute their high performance small block C3 for those people who drove with their fingerprints. Power brakes were available.
