Hi everyone!!!! I'm getting ready to order new tires for my 1980 corvette. I wanted to make sure 255/60/15 would fit the rims I have. I have 225/70/15 on it now. Does any one know if they fit?

Thanks Jeff

BFG's bolt right on.  The were the OEM optional size when new.  BFG and Coopers are the choices now-a-days unless you want to spend money on the reproduction Goodyears that Coker & ?? sell.

Thanks for the info. So the rim I have is big enough. That was the standard rim?

Yup, the rim is big enough to handle the 255's. C3 Corvette aluminum rims are 15" x 8" and C3 '69-'82 steel rallye's are also 15" x 8."

I personally prefer the look of the 255's sidewall profile over the 225's.
It's too bad Firestone quit making the 15" Indy 500 Firehawks. Those were the overall best on my C3 from my personal experience.

I happen to have a set of Firestone Firehawks I'll sell. Less than 5000 miles on them. Look new. Just bought them 10 years ago. CHEAP!!!!!!! New Mickey Thompsons on the way.

Well... my very old uniroyal tiger paw RWL with plenty of rubber have to go! The age is finally becoming a concern. Hate to get rid of them ...The just look really cool and have always handled just ok. But never in rain!!    BFG RWL next week or me. CRAP!!
