Ok. For all those northerners who have had their cars tucked away for about 30 days by now, it's time to go out and pump the brakes a few times real hard. This will keep the seals from shrinking back and hopefully avoid leaks. I do it at least once a month and thought a little reminder for everyone else wouldn't hurt. You don't have to start the engine - even if you have power brakes. Just push harder.

I also roll the car forward or back a bit to add another flat spot in the tires.LOL

I HATE winter.......Cry

Vette(s):
SOLD - "The Toy" - '70 Convertible
SOLD - "The Beast" - '90 ZR-1 (#682)
SOLD - "Betty" - '28 Ford Model A Tudor
SOLD - "BLKBRRD" - '78 Pontiac Trans Am
"BLUBYU" - '04 Coupe
That's a good point.  I never thought about it.  Prior to last winter the toys were winter stored away from my home so didn't have easy access to them.

This year not all the winter prep is done yet on either "The Toy" or "The Beast" so still have the opportunity to back them out on the driveway.  Once they get tucked away the challenge will be to squeeze "BIGBRRD" into the garage (3 cars into a 24X26 space) when it is ready to come home from the body shop and still have room to do some project work while the white stuff is on the ground outside.

Thanks for the tip...!!! Thumbs%20Up

Another thing to watch is if you are topping off fluids make sure to use an unopened can of brake fluid. My 71 had been stored since 92 and when the previous owner decided to bring it out last summer he added what he thought was brake fluid to the master cylinder. Long story short, power steering fluid will cost you about 2 grand in repairs. Better safe than sorry. I just went out and pumped mine . Thanks for the reminder!!

That's where a good set of wheel dollies are worth there weight in gold. I just have a cheap set which work ok for the few times I have to push it a foot or so.

Chips I hate you ........................... just kidding, I'm envious of you.

I guess I'll be going out to pump the brakes instead of a drive around the neighborhood, raining again today, go figure.
