Ok I found 2 cars. 1 is solid silver. 2 is silver/claret. Both have dark red Leather. Which will show better?

Assuming both are in the same condition, paint wise, I would say #2. Depends on what you mean by "show" also. At a car show judged by someone that knows something, then the quality of the paint or maybe rarity of a certain color for a year should only come into play. JMO & 2cents

I would guess the silver / dark claret woud be more popular with 1301 produced. Tell us more about the cars to be fair though Jamie.
Downside to that combo for me is that I believe that color option was only offer in 82 which means it has Crossfire Injection. This fuel system has a love it or hate it reputation when it comes to resale.Tuxblacray 2007-11-17 06:50:05

I've always liked the '81/'82 two toned cars, so if that one is on good shape, that would get my vote.

I would go with the claret if that was the only deciding factor

Vette(s): 1978 L48, p/s, p/w/ factory ac car factory manual trans has a 350 crate engine w/260hp, but also have original which may be rebuilt- we also have a 76 w/ a 454, and 74 350 in various stages of being rebuilt, plus an 86 and an 02....
I don't have near the experience that most here do, but my opinion differs a bit- if the cars are otherwise in eqivilent shape, I like the solid color beter for showing the body style. To me, although you see less of the two tones, the paint takes away from showing on a clean body. Just my opinion...

The two tone car far will show better by far. I used to have a '78 Silver Anniversary and loved the two tone. A member of my local Vette club has an all silver '79 and side by side there was no comparison. The all silver '79 looked bland.

#2. But I am biased to the two-tone cars
