Ok, here it is...wasted a perfectly good post on this. The Protecto-Plate was a Camaro-specific item containing info on various standard and optional equipment. It was a metal "plate" imprinted at the assembly plant supplied with the warranty book, not attached to the actual vehicle. Never mind......

The protectoplate was all of GM, not just Camaro. It is a valuable piece of documentation for any car of the late 60s-early 70s. It was the size of a credit card and contained some option content information. Was used in the waranty process by the dealer.
