I even got a wave from a guy driving a Porche!!Whats with that.Maybe he also has a Vette.Anyway I get all kinds of waves from all generation Vettes. There's a guy out here on the Island that has a beautiful 58,white with silver cove red interior. He waves all the time and it don't matter to him how cold it is if the suns out the top is down,as a matter a fact I've never seen the car with the top up!!!I'm begining to wonder if he has one

Mike,

I've had Lamborghini's, Porche's, Bently's and other european cars wave at me.   Well, I do know two of them.  Friends drive together.

Is the '58 guy crazy or just a serious vette fanatic...

He's something else I'll tell ya.Haven't had the pleasure of talking to him yet.I'ts kinda funny sometimes. It'll be in the oh maybe mid to high 40's out and here he comes all bundled up but he's crusing no doubt about it.He's pretty old with a white beard kinda like santa I guess.Of course I'm no spring chichen myself but he has to be in his mid 60's.I like him even tho' I've never talked to him.Got bigger stones than me!!!

Vette(s): 1972 T-Top

SOUNDS A LOT LIKE A FRIEND OF MINE WHO HAS A '55. I KNEW HIM FOR 5 YEARS BEFORE I EVER SAW A TOP ON IT. WE WERE AT A SHOW AND IT STARTED TO RAIN, HE PULLED THE TOP AND SIDE CURTAINS OUT OF THE TRUNK..I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW HE HAD A TOP FOR IT!  HE DRIVES IT EVERYWHERE...IT WAS FEATURED IN VETTE MAGAZINE ABOUT A YEAR AND A HALF AGO......

You'll rarely see a Solid-axle 'Vette wid da top up. They jes be too cool for that, even in da rain. You stay drier in the rain with the top down, anyway!!

It's a Vette thing, you should understand   I get a wave from every Generation of vette I pass, and return the wave everytime.

Joel, I agree with "you stay drier in the rain with the top down". Shortly after I bought my 62, someone asked me how I liked it. I replied, "well it drives like a mule and wagon, if it rains you get soaking wet, it has a clutch from hades and I LOVE IT".
