My 77 vette just stopped starting. Never had a problem with it cranking just stopped cold turkey. Doesn't even want to act like its starting. Another thing that baffles me is that it started fine three previous times that day.
Anyone have any suggestions?

My 442 did the same thing this summer. I put a battery charger on it for 24 hours. It has started everytime since. Check your battery first (recharge). If that doesn't work, it could be the starter or it could be your cables. Sometimes all you have to do is remove the cables off the battery and clean them (and the battery connections) with water, baking soda and a brush. Try that.

Vette(s): White 1975 L48 Stingray 129,000 Miles, daily driver.
My battery cable was loose, was doing really screwey stuff, so I had one of the guys I worked with take the column apart and check the switches and ignition and such(he lives to rebuild columns, if you're in the DC area and need a column/rebuild let me know, but that is an aside) in the end all he did was wiggle the battery cable and it has worked since!

It does sound like a loose or disconnected wire. the neagative battery wire could be corrided or fallen off. The negative ground wire connected to the inside fender bump was rusted and fell off on my 93 cavalier and it stopped running and wouldn't start. On our Vette it was the battery wire rubbing against the engine and burned through shorrting out so it would start sometimes but not others.
