There is a thread about leaving car on jackstands and I posted in there about jacking up the car using that steel plate(haven't done it)up under the front grill.Well if that is a no no, what is that thing.It's very solid

That is th front impact beam. It is bolted to the frame with 8 bolts in holes that are slotted with load washers that aloww it to move if it is hit. Jacking the car up by this would not be a good idea.

My car is sitting on jack stands right now without any problems. I've places 4, 3ton stands at each jack point. Right behind the front wheel on each side and in front of the rear wheels. As long as they are all the same height, shouldn't be an issue.

I think ZGATOR is talking about the frame cross member that goes between the frame rails under the oil pan,if thats what it is ,yes you can jack on that,or put your jack stands under it ,just make sure it is on there solid,you dont want it to slide and poke into your oil pan
