Hello everyone.....
Before I go looking for this problem, I thought it might be smart to get some discussion first.
The alarm has started to sound when I move the auto shifter into park. There must be a wire that's moving around under the boot. It will shut off when I push the button on the fob. ???
Got any ideas
It will shut off when I push the button on the fob.
Fob? Not factory. Who knows what you'll find. My white 79 came with an aftermarket alarm but the guy lost the fob. No problem, it was the first thing I ripped out of the car. What a mess that was. Fortunately only one wire was cut when it was installed. Mike

That was my impression too, Mike! I don't think it is the factory alarm that is the problem.
Sound like an aftermarket alarm set-up, and there probably is a wire under the console that is causing the bleeping problem. Exploratory surgery is called for...

OK, guys...I'll do it...rip it out that is.
If i'm going to do exploratory surgery I might as well be prepared to remove "foreign objects"
P.S. I used the term "fob" but what I really meant was "a funny little thing-a-ma-jiggy" with a cute little button in the middle of it.
O.K. 1BadLT1... your giving me some evil thoughts...!!

Nothing wrong with "fob"! In fact, that's one of the major topics over on the C5 and C6 forums
over at CF.
