Hey,
Stayed home from KoP tonight because my starter has a bad flat spot on it, and won't crank the car most of the time. Zip Corvette has a starter rebuild kit for 25$ and a new starter for 99$. I'm willing to try to fix/replace the starter...but I was wondering if anyone had any real clue how hard this would be and what I would need to do to accomplish this.

Scot, if you don't care about originilty, I would go to an Autozone or something like it. I replaced my starter on my CE and at Autozone the whole thing cost me $31.00 for a rebuilt /reman one.

If it starts after it sets and cools down its the solenoid on the starter. Replace it and get a starter heat wrap for it from Summit Race Parts. Only 2 bolts and a small brace hold the starter in. a cuople of wires also. Pretty easy really. Just remember to disconnect the battery first!
