side yoke and rear case (incredible but funny)

In may 2003 i had to remove my rear case (side yoke problems !!) so i start to remove parts and this happen:


i can remove my side yoke !!!??
so i continue my work and when i open the rear case no rear axle damage no side yoke problems or damage !! only a bad ring instalation on my side yoke

In conclusion the man who have this car before me is a stupid guy

Ps: side yoke are aftermarket treat type
Ps2: all mecanic problems i have are due to bad re-assembling (rear bearing, heater,....)

I just bought my '79 Vette September 2, knowing there was a transmission problem. The engine was overrevving and transmission was shifting only when the RPM was about 3000. I know an excellent mechanic who is specialized in Corvettes for more than 30 years. While he was preparing the car for safety certification, he came out of under the car and just cut a 2 inches long portion of a rubber tube, installed it and guess what ??? Transmission is running like a new !!! I bought my mechanics a case of beers. I save $2000, the day after I bought the car.

En passant, Jerome, je suis québécois et je pourrais te parler en français. Ça doit être vraiment extra d'avoir une Corvette en Europe !!! Comment fais-tu pour te procurer les pièces ? Combien te coûte un plein d'essence ?

c'est sur qu'une Corvette en europe c'est pas courant!
pour les pièces, on a des revendeurs de pièces US (cher ++)ou je passe par le net!
en france un plein de corvette coute 90€ car 1L de super vaut environ 1€ (1€ = 1$ canadien).
