[QUOTE=dnv]One minor issue is that you may want to tape the note to his mailbox or mail him an actual letter. According to my neighbor who is our post master, that box is not for just anybody but a federal official on his official duty and mere humans aren't supposed to put stuff in that box without it having gone thru official channels, i.e. the mail system. Supposedly a fine and all that could happen.

Your call, unless, of course, he is the postmaster for your area

Mailboxes are for the mail, not to sound like a Postal-Nazi or anything but ya just go up and knock on the door.

Mark, people who stretch a chain across their driveway tend to not want people knocking on their door. In the summertime if he's out cutting grass and you give a neighborly wave ya get back a glare! Note'll have to do.
I feel I did respect his mailbox privacy, tho.

Geeze, three days and my note is STILL attached to this guys mailbox. Doesn't he ever collect his mail. I know someone's home as there's 2 vans in the drive now. I'm losing interest!!(and coming to my senses). Someone else may have to save it. mkapp7879 2007-03-13 21:53:40

Do you know their last name? If so, then maybe you might find their phone # listed in the yellow pages. Leave 'em a message.
Sorry I had to do that. Cilrah stirred the old memory bank on that one. Yes I've been know to have a twisted sense of humor.
Unless the name is Vernon Howell which was aka David Koresh leader of the Branch Davidians.

No, some people never pick up their mail. Its amazing how long mail will sit in peoples P.O. Boxes in the Post Office. Sometimes I think they come in once a month to pick up mail and pay their bills.

Take a "BIG Deep Breath" and go up to their front door and ASK.........all they can do is say "NO."
You've got me curious now and I have to know what's going on with these people.

Well, had the camera with me today and snapped this. STILL untouched after over 2 years. They actually sealcoated the driveway AROUND the Vette! They have a steel gate across the driveway now.

Apparantly they are not interested.
Did you invite them to the neighborhood Holiday Party?

Mike, perhaps you could post a sign in front of your property that reads...
"Wanted to buy: 1979 Corvette, preferably White in color"
It's sad that the guy(gal?) won't even acknowledge your message...
