Well, I guess that cancels me out. The car I thought went to the dealer in prime, in fact says on the trim tag, .......Chevrolet A19
............592....89L. I just ran out and looked. Very educational though. Til now, I had never paid any attention to trim tags or VIN codes. It'l be interesting to find out what it means. It was med. metallic brown on top (pacer style paint scheme) and gold on the bottom when I found it gutted. saw a story in one of the vette mags. about a guy on the east coast with the same paint job who tried to track down his colors and Chevy explained the "to dealer in prime" thing to him. Not knowing it was any big deal, I assumed I had the same deal. aceinthehole 2007-07-28 19:39:42

Thank You Joel. I just spent the last hour trying to look up that info, no success. I wish I could repay half the favors you've done for me partner
. At least, keep me in mind if there is anything I might ever do for you.

I have recently created a website dedicated to BODY IN PRIME Corvettes, those cars painted in primer only when they left the assembly plant. BODY IN PRIME was the option description on the dealer invoice. I am seeking stories from past and present owners, photos, or any general information. These are extremely rare Corvettes, less than 300 were ever made. The website is www.bodyinprimecorvettes.com. Thanks.
